| St John's Music Ministry Ensemble Features Contemporary & Traditional Liturgical Music |
| Music Ministry has always been a big part of life for me; even as a young girl in Lousianna I sang in every church choir I could. I studied vocal music and music theory in high school. In 1982 while teaching the chorus at Pensacola Catholic High I studied conducting under Dr. Witmore at Pensacola Junior College. As a volunteer, In Feb. 1971, I founded the "St. John the Evangelist Music Ministry Ensemble" with the help of Mary Blake Harden, James Robbinette Sr. and the Grecu Twins. I have enjoyed working with the Ensemble every week since then. You can sing along with us, Sunday morning at the 10:30 Liturgy where I now conduct. Other past experience includes directing music at NAS Pensacola Chapel, the Chapel at Corry Field in Warrington and Diocesan and City-wide Charismatic Renewal functions. My husband, Ted and I led the music at St. Anne's Church in Brownsville at the 4pm Saturday Liturgy for about 15 years. In 2005-2006, my husband, Ted and I enjoyed playing instruments for St. John's 12:15 Spanish Mass with Susan Henderson, directing. We would be glad to provide music for your wedding, anniversary or funeral, etc. "Sing"cerely, Simone Please, call at 456-1504 or click here to send an email . |

Our St. John's Music Ministry Ensemble, began as a Folk Group in 1971, around the same time, Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church began in Pensacola. Over the years, our group, now called a Music Ministry Ensemble, has been blessed with a wonderful blend of instrumentalists and both male and female vocalist. As of 2008, 5 of our members are Catholic converts, another blessing. As of October 2008, we are welcoming 4 new vocalist. |
